The short version: Otis does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. Everything the app stores stays on your device.
Who we are
Otis is published by HY Software Studios, LLC, a single-member limited liability company registered in Washington State, USA (“we,” “us,” “our”). This policy explains how the Otis mobile app for iOS and Android handles information.
What the app stores on your device
A few things are saved locally on your device so the app can work. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or anyone else:
- The children's names you choose to add, and your choice of who is listening tonight, so the app can greet them.
- Basic app preferences, such as your sleep-timer choice.
- If a grown-up records a story in their own voice, that audio stays on the device and is added only to your child's library.
Deleting the app removes this information from your device.
What we do not do
- We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on our servers. Otis has no servers that receive your information.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
- We do not use third-party SDKs that collect data.
- We do not require an account or a sign-in.
- The app makes no network requests in normal use — all stories and lullabies are bundled with the app and play fully offline.
Children's privacy
Otis is intended for young children and is built to comply with children's-privacy regulations, including the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP). Because the app collects no data at all, no personal information about a child is ever transmitted off the device or stored by us. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or from anyone else.
How your information is shared
It isn't. Because we collect nothing, there is nothing to sell, rent, or share with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
Your choices and rights
Since Otis stores data only on your device and never sends it anywhere, you remain in control at all times. You can remove any names or recordings within the app, and uninstalling Otis deletes everything it stored on your device. Data security
Information the app saves stays on your own device and is protected by your device's own security. Because nothing is transmitted to us, there is no data in transit or on a server for us to safeguard on your behalf.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
